這星期英國首相施紀賢（Keir Starmer）會見美國總統特朗普（Donald Trump）前，兩位美國眾議員──眾議院中共問題特設委員會主席John Moolenaar和國會及行政當局中國委員會主席Chris Smith發信警告英國駐美大使文德森（Lord Mandelson），指讓步批准超級大使館「只會令中國更加肆無忌憚地恐嚇和騷擾反對或批評其政策的英國公民、歐洲各地異見人士和專家」。之前美國國會亦警告過計劃帶來諸多威脅，包括「干預、監視以至對敏感基建的風險」。

The UK government must heed these warnings about transnational repression and stop the proposed Chinese super embassy to protect national security and the safety of the Hong Kong diaspora and others.
