1989年5月20日，中共頒佈戒嚴令，軍隊入城鎮壓八九民運。香港8號颱風高懸，4萬多市民無懼風雨，勇敢走上街頭聲援北京學生。
1989年，香港人全情投入聲援北京民主運動。回歸後，中共的極權魔爪愈伸愈長，香港經歷反對《基本法》第23條立法、反國教運動、佔領運動……更在2019年夏天，由反對修訂《逃犯條例》開始，展開一埸對抗政治暴力、守護自由之戰。兩場運動面對同一專制極權，所遭遇的政權鎮壓、濫暴、拒絕對話、抹黑、清算和拒絕獨立調查真相，都極其近似；兩場運動的參與者所展現的理想、犧牲精神和勇氣，也是一致的。
中共政權一直企圖抹去人民對「六四」屠殺真相的記憶，並把這種鎮壓民主人權、文攻武嚇的管治手段不停延伸到香港。在這時刻，「六四紀念館」更有責任守護真相，保留中共的屠殺歷史，讓社會以史為鑑，捍衛屬於我們的民主、自由、人權等普世價值。因此，我們將「八九六四」和「反送中」這兩場浩瀚的運動扣連起來，希望可以互相借鑑，汲取教訓，為仍未平反的「六四」及抗爭仍未完結的「反送中」運動出一分力。

‘At the forefront of anti-totalitarianism: From June 4, 1989 to the anti-extradition movement’
In the summer of 2019, the anti-extradition movement started in Hong Kong. Many compared it to June 4. The June 4 Museum will have a new exhibition from mid-May. Through different cultural relics, exhibits, pictures, exhibition boards, and documentaries, the similarities, differences, correlations, inspirations and meanings of the two are compared. Students can thus understand and learn from history, and cultivate their citizenship in pursuit of democracy and universal values.
Starting date: 20 May, 2020
Opening hours: Every Tuesday to Sunday, 12:00-18:00 (closed on Mondays, until further notice)
