At 7:30pm, a statement from the Beijing Students' Autonomous Federation was posted at the Triangle of Peking University: "We should carry out extensive campus democracy building, such as the election and confirmation of the autonomy council, and retention of the campus democracy wall, and never let it be easily lost. We should continue to raise awareness for the public, such as through educating the importance of law and the dissemination of basic knowledge in democratic and liberal ideas. The struggle continues and students still need to work hard."

“Nearly a thousand students from Peking University, Peking Normal University and other universities gathered in front of the journalist association in solidarity with the petitioning journalists, holding banners reading "Freedom of the press, lift the ban on newspapers", "Solidarity with the conscience of the press" and "Salute to journalists", chanting slogans such as "Speak for the people, this matter is important, unite and revive China".
「近千名来自北大、北师大等校学生聚集在记协门前声援请愿的记者，举着写有“新闻自由，解除报禁”、“声援新闻界之良心”、“向新闻工作者致敬”等横幅，高呼“为民说话，事关重大，团结起来，振兴中华”等口号。」
